Duplex Snare with wood hoops

Really neat, hard to find drum here; I've never seen another like it! 12 single post lugs, cool inlaid wooden hoops. My best educated guess is that this drum dates from 1883 (duh) to the very early 1900's. Drum measures 14.5"x5.5". Round Duplex badge with a wooden grommet. The badge and lug bases have a patent date of APR 3 '83. The shell and lugs are nickle plated brass. The shell shows some wear to the plating and has dulled over the years. Break out the buffing wheel! There is a wooden strip that runs around the shell's interior- it is under the lug posts. Drum is complete! Looks like it has some kind of marching harness- looks stock. A really cool, complete example of a rare drum from a rare marque!
