1920's Ludwig Black Beauty

Oh man, lookee here! 20's Ludwig Deluxe, a.k.a. Black Beauty, in the 5x15 size! 8 tube lugs, P-338 "Pioneer" strainer, legendary 2 piece heavy brass shell, single flange hoops with clips. This drum had some damage to the finish, and a few dings, when the previous owner bought it. He sent it to John Aldridge to have it restored. John replated the shell and parts and re-engraved the shell. John also engraved his initials in the interior. He plated the screws copper, and the washers black There are a few shallow dents in the shell that couldn't be erased, so they were left. The drum looks pretty much new now. The tension rods are a mix of original Ludwig & Ludwig, and some Slingerland from the same era. Fifteens are awesome for brushwork, or whatever you play. This drum is tuned up and sounds fantastic! Great to display or jus' play!
